Ideal for patients that have symptoms of hypothyroidism but have adequate T4 and T3 levels. Reverse T3 (rT3) is an inactive hormone, produced as a by product of T4-T3 conversion. When produced in excess this can trigger a negative feedback of the pituitary and hypothalamus with an eventual decline in thyroid hormone production.
